Melvin Joseph Dawson, a compassionate and dedicated spirit, born on June 2, 1962, in Saint John, NB, Canada, has left us to dance on the shores of eternity.
Melvin, a charismatic and courageous soul, made his life's journey about caring for others and creating joyous memories. As the Irish poet W.B. Yeats once said, "There are no strangers here; only friends you haven't yet met." For Melvin, everyone was a potential friend waiting to be discovered.
Melvin was a rock, a constant source of strength and laughter for those fortunate enough to know him. He was the man who could transform any gathering into a celebration, the man who danced with unbridled enthusiasm even when he missed a step or two. His love of life was infectious, and his generosity knew no bounds. Melvin was a dedicated supervisor at Granite State Concrete for many years, but his true passion lay in the connections he forged with his family, friends, and neighbors. He loved the beach, especially weekend get-a-ways with his wife "Cup Cake!"
Melvin Dawson, a beloved husband, son, father, brother, and friend, he is survived by his wife, Nancy (Cardinal) Dawson, his Father Yvon Martin and his late Mother Winnie Martin, his Son Domenic Dawson, his step-son Kenneth Pawelski, his two step-daughters Lori Plamondon and Rebecca Elia, two sisters Lisa Cooper and her late husband Bill Cooper, Brenda Jenson and her husband Rob Jenson, many brothers and sisters in-law, six Grand Daughters, many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
The family kindly invites you to share your cherished memories and photos of Melvin on the memorial page. His life was a testament to the power of love and laughter, and his memory will continue to inspire us all.
