Melvin James Antocci, 79,of Rochester New Hampshire, formerly of Leominster, died Monday, May 8, 2023 following a short period of failing health.
He was born in Leominster on August 23, 1943, the son of Carmelo Antocci and Francesca (Lanza) Antocci. He grew up in Leominster and graduated from Leominster High School. He moved to New Hampshire in 2005.
Melvin worked for the City of Leominster, Near East Rice Pilaf, and at local grocery stores. He volunteered at Our Lady of the Lake Church for many years. He loved basketball, especially the Boston Celtics, being outside, the beach, flea markets, car shows, and his children and grandchildren.
He leaves two daughters, Ann Sapcoe and her husband, Mark, and their three children Matthew, Andrew, and Sara of Stratham, New Hampshire, and daughter, Maria Simpson and her husband, Joe, of Abilene, Texas; one sister, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A calling hour will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 9:15-10:15 am in the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Lake Church 1400 Main St., Leominster, MA. Burial will follow in St. Leo's Cemetery, Leominster.
