A calling hour will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Tuesday, June 22, from 9:30-10:30am. The funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am in Saint Anthony di Padua Church in Fitchburg. Burial will be private.
Maryann (Brasili) Smith
Fitchburg – Maryann passed peacefully with her children and their spouses by her side on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the age of 82 from Alzheimer’s. Maryann was born in Fitchburg, the youngest of seven children to the late Luigi and Maria (Cefole) Brasili on February 2, 1939. She lived in Fitchburg her entire life. She was a lifelong member of St. Anthony Parish.
Maryann graduated from St. Bernard’s High School in 1957. Maryann married her husband Kenneth P. Smith on September 5, 1960 and together they raised a loving family. Maryann worked part time while raising her children at Elliott’s Jewelers for over forty years and was dedicated to her children, grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Ken and Maryann attended all their children’s and grandchildren’s school activities and many sporting events. Maryann was an exceptional cook and hand knit beautiful sweaters and afghans for her grandchildren.
Maryann was predeceased by her husband Ken on September 23, 2016. Maryann is survived by her children, Marsha McCue and her husband Brian, Susan Lambert and her husband Jude and Kenneth Smith and his wife Kristine. Her grandchildren include Patrick and Sean McCue, Jillian Minichiello and her husband Dan, Katelin Smith, Christopher Cote, Elizabeth DeBoe, Grace and Drew Lambert. Her great grandchildren include Aiden DeBoe, Dominic and Elyse Minichiello.
Maryann is also survived by her sister Josephine (Jay) Brasili; her sisters-in-law Norma Brasili, Betty Brasili, Sharon Smith; her brother-in-law Dick Smith and his wife Amy, as well as nieces, nephews and God children.
She is predeceased by her brothers John Brasili, Mario Brasili and Albert Brasili; her sisters Sr. Elisa Brasili, PBVM, and Rita Hagan. She was also predeceased by her granddaughter Gillian Lambert.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at The Highlands for the exceptional care during these past 16 months. All the staff cared for Maryann as if she was a member of their own families.
