Mary (McNamara) Paquette, 96 of Lunenburg passed away Tuesday evening May 7, 2024 in the evening surrounded by family at the Highlands Nursing Home, Fitchburg.
Mary was born in Leominster on May 11, 1927, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Mahoney) McNamara of Leominster. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years John Paquette; also by her brothers, Charles, Michael, John, Daniel, Thomas and James; and sisters, Winfred Martin and Barbara Smith.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Paquette and his wife Louise, Charles Paquette and his wife Sharon; both of Lunenburg; her daughters, Joan O’Brien and her husband Richard of Orchard Park, New York; Marie Robichaud and her husband Richard of South Glens Falls, New York; and a brother, Brian McNamara of Florida.
She leaves 11 grandchildren; Kerry O'Brien, Eric O’Brien and his wife, Melissa, Julie Paquette and her husband, Derek Steinbacher, Valerie Paquette and her husband, Eric Miga, Lauren Garside and her husband, Christopher, Leah Cronin and her husband Patrick, Craig Larcenaire and his wife Dana, Steven Larcenaire, Rachel Robichaud, Daniel Paquette, Rebecca Piselli and her husband George.
Great grandchildren; Brooke and Cora Steinbacher, Lillian and Adrienne Miga, Cassidy, Clayton and Calvin Garside, Samantha O’Brien, Kaden, Wyatt and Hudson Cronin, Landon and Luke Larcenaire, Genevieve Piselli and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was co-owner with her husband, John of Paquette Floor Coverings for 30 years. They shared their love of travel to Florida, Ireland and Spain. Many weekends were spent with family and friends at their cottage on Lake Shirley.
Mary was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Leominster, Ladies Guild and the Lunenburg Friendly Seniors. She graduated from St. Bernard’s High School in 1945.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main St., Leominster. Burial will follow in Saint Cecilia's Cemetery, Leominster.
A calling hour will be held Monday, May 13, 2024 from 9 AM to 10:15 AM in the Brandon Funeral Home 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg.
In lieu of flowers, the families suggest donations to be made in Mary’s memory to the Friendly Seniors of Lunenburg, 25 Memorial Dr., Lunenburg, MA, 01462, or to a charity of one’s choice.
