It is with much sadness that we announce that Mary Patricia "Moira" Farrell-Cantor, age 62, resident of Leominster, MA, passed away on January 2, 2024 after courageously and quietly fighting cancer over the last 3 years. Mary was the loving wife of Daniel Cantor.
Mary was born on May 20, 1961, to the late Patrick J. and Mary Farrell of Lunenburg, MA. Our neighborhood, friends and schools in Lunenburg were wonderful where everyone knew each other and everyone looked out for each other. Growing up near Lake Whalom was the best childhood with such wonderful memories that she will cherish forever. From her first job in the Concessions Stand at Whalom Park to Finance & Accounting on Fort Devens and to retiring from the IRS in 2017.
Mary had a passion for riding motorcycles, an avid traveler, walking and hiking with her dogs, a good conversation or debate, worshipped the sun and not to mention her eclectic taste in clothes and home decor. Mary will always be remembered for her laughter and how she could brighten any room or audience. We all could hear her laughing before we saw her and knew that we’d be all in for a good laugh & time!!!!
Mary is predeceased by her parents Patrick and Mary Farrell. She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years Daniel Cantor, her sister Brigid Sponaugle (husband Ray Sponaugle), nephew Tyler Sponaugle, niece Shelby Sponaugle (partner Dean Muzzy) & grand-niece Meara Muzzy, fur babies; Zoe & Diva, Allen & Anne Cantor (father & mother-in-law) along with cousins and family in Ireland and England.
All our welcome to honor and remember Moira from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm of visitation this Friday, January 12, 2024, at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd. Fitchburg, MA. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home immediately following.
Mary loved all animals. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a local animal center of your choice in her honor.
We would also like to thank all the wonderful nurses and staff at Leominster CCU for taking such good care of Mary during her stay. We couldn’t have asked for kinder people during this extremely difficult time.
