The funeral will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Saturday, May 21, at 10:00am. Calling hours will precede the funeral from 8-10am. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
OBITUARY
Leominster – Mary L. (McGinnis) Burchstead, 75, of Leominster passed away May 17, in Nashoba Valley Medical Center.
Mary was born in Leominster on February 3, 1941, a daughter of the late Martin and Rita (Hebert) McGinnis. She graduated from Leominster High School in 1957. She worked for 22 years at the former Cappy’s restaurant as well as the Old Mill, until her retirement in 1987. She was the secretary and a member of the Midstate Antique Auto Club for many years. Mary loved to go shopping, long car rides, and spending time with her family.
She leaves her loving husband of many years, Kenneth Burchstead of Leominster; children, Daniel Benoit of FL, Paul Benoit of Littleton, Sherry Gonynor of Leominster, and Gloria Wilkey of Leominster; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Martin McGinnis of FL, John McGinnis of NH, Michael McGinnis of Leominster, Richard McGinnis of NY, and Cathy Sullivan of Fitchburg.
Mary was predeceased by her sister Patty McGinnis.
