On October 6, 2023, Mary Anne started her new adventures with her best friend and husband Dana. Mary Anne Fisher was born on May 20, 1953, in Oneida, NY, USA. She was a beloved mother, sister, and friend, whose endless generosity, kindness, quiet service, and warmth touched all who were blessed to know her. Mary Anne's love and cherished memories will live on through her family and their traditions. She always put her family first.
Mary Anne had a heart full of love and a spirit full of life. She was a proud graduate of Chittenango High School and later pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Eisenhower College. She spent her career supporting the family construction business Littlehale & Fisher and later worked as a dedicated baker in a local supermarket, sharing her love for food with her community. She especially loved being asked by customers if she had any hot Italians back there, referring to the bread of course. She also shared her talents as an amazing chef with her family, especially during birthdays and holidays. It did not get better than having a homemade meal or birthday cake from Mary Anne. Eating her meals could inspire you to learn to cook.
She had a fondness for outdoor activities throughout her entire life. She was in 4-H and Girl Scouts in her youth and loved swimming and spending time with her family in farm country. She went on camping trips with Dana and her sons, sometimes in places that were not exactly designated for public camping. She supported her two sons in their activities including both achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, sports, and helping both graduate college and start wonderful families. She also enjoyed hunting for hidden treasures and antiques.
She often enjoyed watching birds and squirrels on her bird feeder and squirrels chasing each other around the trees. She was kind to point out that the squirrels were not supposed to be on the bird feeder, but they could not be stopped even with elaborate obstacles she and Dana set up.
She lived life with love, courage, and compassion. She found joy in even simple things in life and was a person you simply wanted to be around.
Mary Anne is survived by her sons, Gregory Fisher and Lee Fisher, her grandchildren Eli, Elyse, Kyle, Sylvia Rose, and Hazel, and her siblings, Barbara Renne, Daniel Turk, Joseph Turk, and Raymond Turk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dana Fisher, her parents, Carl and Joan Turk, and her brother, Patrick Turk.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the Massachusetts Audubon Society in her name to honor her love of nature.
