Mark Domkowski, a charismatic and funny soul, born on December 8th , 1959 in Worcester, MA, unexpectedly passed away on April 14th , 2024. Mark was a beam of light and laughter to all who knew him. His quick wit and funny faces could always be counted on to lighten up a room and make everyone laugh. A loyal companion, Mark formed many deep connections with those around him. His unique charm making him an unforgettable character in the lives of many.
Mark found joy in the simplest of things; his favorite pastimes included scaring people, making others laugh, reading magazines, and relaxing at his provider’s home in Leominster, Massachusetts. His radiant spirit was a beacon at Aspire Living and Learning, where he was not just a member, but an integral part of the community since 1988.
Mark enjoyed the companionship of his shared living provider, James, who provided outstanding care to him since 2012. Mark became a part of James’ family, and they looked after him as if he were their own. The support of long-term staff members at Aspire were instrumental in his life. James, his wife Maria, and his family, among so many others, are indelibly etched in Mark’s life story; a tale of resilience, courage, and an unyielding zest for life.
His memories live on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched. “What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.” ~Thucydides. Mark left behind more than traces; he left a vibrant, colorful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Mark for a period of visitation on Friday, April 26, from 9:00 am until 11:00am at the Brandon Funeral Home in Fitchburg. A funeral service will take place at the same location at 11:00 am. Following the funeral service, a burial will take place at St. John's Cemetery, Parker Rd. in Lancaster.
