Margaret “Peggy” Meeker, 66, of Fitchburg, passed peacefully on March 4, 2023, after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Peggy was born on August 12, 1956, in Gardner, Ma to the late Thomas and Ellen Colon. She graduated from Monty Tech with a culinary trade in 1975 and worked as a cook her entire adult life. She made Lunenburg her home for many years, where she raised her 3 children.

She enjoyed many hobbies, especially cross-stitch and ceramic painting. She had a lot of joy in making gifts for family and friends for birthdays, special events, and holidays. Around the Christmas holiday, Peggy would spend days preparing and baking cookies and breads to share with everyone she loved. She was also an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan.

Peggy is survived by her children Joseph and his fiancée Summer of Fitchburg, Christopher and his wife Sarah of Orange, and Gail Meeker and her significant other Travis of Gardner. She leaves 10 grandchildren, Cameron, Tommy, Hailie, Autumn, Bennett, Chase, Michael, Connor, Katerina, Roman and 1 great-grandson, Connor. Peggy is also survived by 6 siblings, Thomas of Rio Rancho, NM, Michael of Gardner, Eileen, Mary Ellen, Susan, and Patricia all of Boca Raton, FL. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Barbara Colon of Shirley, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Daniel Colon.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2023 from 2-4 pm at Brandon Funeral Home 305 Wanoosnoc Rd, in Fitchburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to The Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA).
