Margaret “Peg” (Lennon) Rouleau, 88, passed away peacefully on April 20, at home surrounded by her loving family. Peg was born in Fitchburg on September 28, 1933, daughter of the late James Lennon and Alice (Murphy) Lennon Conley. Her husband Andre “Andy” Rouleau passed away in 1991. She will be deeply missed by her three daughters; Nancy Cutting and companion John Fuller of Leominster, Linda Rouleau of Fitchburg, Debby St. Jean and her husband Rick St. Jean of Lunenburg, with whom she lived; seven grandchildren who she loved and adored with all her heart, Jeff Cutting, Shaun Pietila, Jolene Garrity, Derek St. Jean, Shane Fuller, Corey St. Jean and Andrew St. Jean; five great-grandchildren who brought her so much joy Colin Garrity, Caiden Charon, Liana Fuller, Hunter and Harrison St. Jean; several nieces and nephews. Peg was predeceased by her sister Irene Gilbert and her brother James “Sonny” Lennon and her littlest angel in heaven, great-grandson Christian Garrity. She was born and raised in “the Patch” in Fitchburg. She would love to tell us stories of those days often with such happiness in her eyes. We all felt like we grew up there with her, listening to all of her happy memories of the many stores, restaurants and dance clubs she used to go to with her lifelong friends. Those were the happiest days of her life she would say. She had a few jobs throughout her life but her most fulfilling was raising her family and taking care of her grandchildren, she always said she was so thankful to be able to do that. Spending time with her family and playing with her great-grandchildren was the happiest pastime she said. Her love for playing cards she proudly passed down to her children and grandchildren and anyone who was willing to learn poker. Weekend card games and scratch tickets always made her happy. If you call to say you were going to visit, she’d say, “bring your change!” She was lucky to enjoy many trips to Foxwoods, Las Vegas, and Atlantic City. There was always a story or two to tell after any outing with Peg. She made a friend everywhere she went, everyone wanted her to be their mom or grandma. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Beacon Hospice as well as her special caretakers, Katie and Meggan.
