Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Fitchburg on Tuesday, April 12, at 12:00 p.m. preceded by a calling hour at the church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1319 Main Street., Fitchburg, MA 01420.
Marcia Karis-Pinault, of Fitchburg, has died after an extended illness. She was 84.
Marcia was a graduate of Fitchburg High School and attended Fitchburg State University. She worked at General Electric in Fitchburg for more than 40 years as an administrative assistant and project manager.
Marcia was passionate about her Greek Orthodox heritage, serving her church, Holy Trinity, as a Sunday School teacher, secretary, festival volunteer and choir member. In 2016, she received the Greek Orthodox Diocese Laity Award, the highest honor for a member of the church laity.
The daughter of James and Pauline Karis, Marcia was born on January 16, 1938, and lived most of her life in Fitchburg.
Marcia was an avid traveler, having visited Greece, Italy, France, Great Britain, Switzerland, Turkey and China, among other countries. A talented Greek cook, her specialties included pastitsio, stuffed peppers and baklava, in addition to numerous other pastries.
Dedicated to her family and community, she was known for her compassion, kindness and generosity.
She leaves her husband of 44 years, Paul Pinault, her brother, Harris Karis, nephews James Karis and Jonathan Karis and niece Christina Karis, as well as many cousins.
Her family would like to thank the nurses of the VNA and her outstanding caregivers from the French Connection, Kathy, Hana, Maureen and Pam.
