The funeral will be held Saturday, September 19 from Brandon Funeral Home with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Bernard’s St. Camillus Church, 333 Mechanic St. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7 p.m. Burial is private. FITCHBURG – Lynnwood P. Rumley, 68, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015 in Health Alliance Hospital, Leominster after a long illness.
He was born October 3, 1946, in Fitchburg, the son of Alfred and Beverly (Marrotte) Rumley. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1964 and graduated from Fitchburg State College in 1976. After graduation, Lynn worked as a stock broker for Paine Webber, Shearson American Express and N.E. Rare Coin Company. Eventually he fulfilled his lifelong dream of building custom homes and owning and operating Complete Contracting Services.
He leaves his caring mother, Beverly Rumley of Fitchburg, his devoted wife and friend of many years, Mary Jane O’Brien of Fitchburg. His loving children, Courtney M. Callahan and her husband, James, of Fitchburg and Brandon J. Rumley and his wife, Katie, and their children, Marygrace and Sean Patrick, all of Maplewood, NJ, whom he loved very much and they loved their “Bub”. He also leaves his siblings, Daideen Moilanen and her husband, Laurie, of Fitchburg, Michael M. Rumley of NH, many nieces, nephews and loyal friends. He was predeceased by his father, Alfred Rumley and his sister in law, Maureen O’Brien Clougherty.
