Lucy Lemons Garabedian

January 19, 1924 — March 25, 2018

Lucy’s funeral will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Saturday, April 21, at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery in Fitchburg. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.



New Ipswich, NH- Lucy (Garabedian) Lemons, 94, formerly of Fitchburg, passed away March 25, 2018 in Good Shepherd Healthcare Center in Jaffrey, NH.

Lucy was born in Fitchburg on January 19, 1924, a daughter of the late Armen Der Garabedian and Ermonig (Antriasian). She graduated from Fitchburg High School, class of 1941. She was employed by the Independent Lock Company and Lockwood Hardware Manufacturing Co., in the billing department as the assistant to the Credit Manager. Lucy was very active, playing in all sports in the Industrial League for a total of 13 years. In 1952 she and her husband moved to New Ipswich, NH, where she started working for the Electric Light Co. as a bookkeeper, until the town sold it to Public Service Co., of Peterborough. Lucy continued to work for the town as a bookkeeper and was elected Town Clerk and Tax Collector until she retired on March 8, 2008, a total of 38 years.

She was a 53 year member of Puritan Charity Themis Atlantis Chapter 29, Order of the Eastern Star, The New Ipswich Historical Society, American Apostolic Holy Trinity Church of Worcester, and Christ Episcopal Church in Fitchburg.

Lucy is survived by her daughter Jodee Reardon and her husband Terry of New Ipswich, granddaughter Bethany Hart, great grandchildren, Ryan Marden, Jonathan Hart, Jacolby and Julia Bisson; step granddaughter, Kelly McCarthy and her husband Daniel, and their children, James and Brielle McCarthy.

She was predeceased by her sister Sarah Kooyomjian and her husband William.
