With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we bid farewell to a remarkable man, Louis Roy, who passed away on March 1, 2024. Born to the late Benoit and Lena Roy in Rogersville, New Brunswick, Canada on June 18, 1942, Louis was a man of extraordinary character; he was courageous, talented, smart, and generous. These qualities permeated every aspect of his life and touched those around him.
Louis spent the majority of his life in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, where he built a reputation as a skilled carpenter. Self-employed and always ready to share his talents with others, he retired in 2018, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful craftsmanship. His love for his work was only surpassed by his love for his family and water skiing, a hobby that brought him immense joy. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Kelley, and a doting grandfather to Hailey. To his siblings, Roger, Rosella, and Linda, and their partners, Pierrette, Joe, and Roger respectively, he was the brave and loving brother they could always rely on. He was also a cherished brother-in-law to Beatrice. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Benoit and Lena Roy, his beloved brother Wilfred, and his sister Diane Richard. Louis lived well and made a significant difference in the lives of those he touched.
His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he loved and those who loved him. We invite you to share your memories and photos of Louis on his memorial page, celebrating his life and the love he shared with all of us.
