Loraine S. Maillet O'Dea

The funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Friday, March 6, with a Mass at 10:00am in Saint Bernard’s Parish at Saint Camillus Church, 333 Mechanic St. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 5 from 4-7pm in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately in the spring in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery.



Fitchburg – Loraine S. (O’Dea) Maillet, 78, of Fitchburg, passed away Monday, March 2, in the Golden Living Center surrounded by her loving family.

Loraine was born in Gardner on February 21, 1937, a daughter of the late John and Marion (Turgeon) O’Dea. She graduated from Saint Bernard’s High School and later worked at Liberty Mutual as a secretary. For many years, she ran a daycare out of her home, and later retired from the TRW Company. Her greatest pleasure was her family; she took much pride in her children, and adored her grandchildren. After retirement, Loraine loved to travel to Florida with her husband in their motorhome.

She leaves her husband of 53 years, Francis Maillet of Fitchburg; children, Jacqueline Vaillancourt and her husband Earl Jr., Joel Maillet and wife Karen, Susan Maillet, all of Fitchburg, Cheryl Montuori and husband Angelo of Lunenburg, and Daniel Maillet of Fitchburg; grandchildren, Michael Maillet, Stacy Surrette, Katelyn Surrette, Joshua Surrette, Matthew Vaillancourt, Tyler Montuori, Ryan Montuori, Cheyenne Montuori, and Kyle Maillet; great grandchildren, Molly Maillet and Connor Surrette.

Loraine was predeceased by her sister Marion Maki last year.
