Linda A. Banville

January 3, 1943 — February 1, 2025

Gardner

Linda A. Banville, aged 82, of Gardner, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025. Born on January 3, 1943, in Newburyport, Massachusetts, Linda was a woman of remarkable resilience and independence. She was a beacon of support for her loved ones and carried a loving heart that warmed the lives of all those around her. As an avid gardener, Linda found joy in nurturing her angel trumpets and lilies, filling her home with their vibrant colors and gentle fragrances. Her fondness for her pets was yet another testament to her nurturing spirit. "The love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of man," Charles Darwin once said, a quote that Linda lived by every day.

Linda began her career in secretarial work at Foster Grant and showcased her resilience by accelerating her career at Digital Equipment Corp in Westminster. She eventually became the proud owner of her own business, Back Acres Answering Service, operating from her home in Westminster. Linda was a thoughtful and hardworking woman, always ready to lend a helping hand to her large family. To further fulfill her life and need to share love, Linda became a caregiver under Montachusett Home Care’s Adult Family Care Program, opening her home to Jennifer and making her part of Linda’s family. Her love for her family was boundless, especially for her twin sister, Carolyn. The profound bond between them was unbreakable, and even after Carolyn's passing, Linda found comfort in her nightly dreams where she said "she visits me every night in my dreams".

Linda is survived by her son, Stephen Banville and daughter-in-law, Linda Banville; her daughter, Denise Flinkstrom; her siblings, Virginia Mills, Richard Mills and his wife Jeanne, Charles Mills and his wife Bobbie, and Marcia Marjomaa; her grandchildren, Kyle Banville, Keri Lloyd, Joshua Plant, and Sarah Aldrich; ten nieces and nephews Laura Lynn Morrissey, John E. McFadden, Danica Copp, Corinna Cusson, Brandon Mills, Kristin Gengler, Heather Mills, Nathan Mills, Michael Marjomaa, Katelyn Muollo, seven great grandchildren and several grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Helen Mills; her sisters, Elizabeth Beaulac and Carolyn Fredette, and her son-in-law, Ken Flinkstrom.

A life as fulfilling and impactful as Linda's cannot be captured in mere words. As we mourn her departure, we also celebrate the love, joy, and resilience she brought into our lives. We encourage those who knew Linda to contribute to her memorial page, sharing memories and photos that capture her spirit.
