Leo Roy

June 17, 1940 — April 6, 2024

Gallatin, TN

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Leo Roy, a compassionate and generous soul, on April 6, 2024 while surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 17, 1940, in Sainte-Marie, New Brunswick, Canada, Leo was the embodiment of love and kindness. His infectious smile and his unique ability to make everyone feel cherished will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Leo was a man of deep faith, whose love for God and his family was evident in all his endeavors. He was a loyal husband to Maria for over six decades, a loving father to Elaine and Lee, and a doting grandfather to Alexis and Danielle. His great grandson Cayden brought him immense joy, and he was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his great granddaughter Adelyn. His dedication to his family was mirrored in his professional life, where he spent 35 years with Yvon Cormier Construction, retiring as the Vice President in 2019. Despite his demanding role, Leo always found time for his true passions - family and friends. Whether it was traveling to watch his children perform or spending quality time with his family, Leo's generosity and love knew no bounds. He was, as Albert Einstein said, "an example of what every human being should be."

Leo's journey was not just confined to his birthplace. He lived in Coal Branch, New Brunswick, Canada and Fitchburg, MA, before finally settling in Gallatin, Tennessee with his children. But no matter where he resided, one thing remained constant - Leo's unwavering commitment to service. He was a servant of the Lord and found immense joy in lending a helping hand to anyone in need. His funny and uplifting spirit, coupled with his dedication to his faith, left an indelible mark on everyone he met.

Leo is survived by his wife, Maria of sixty years, his daughter Elaine Roy (Gallatin, TN), his son Lee Roy and his wife Kimberly (Gallatin, TN), his granddaughter Alexis Phillips and husband Foster and great grandson Cayden (Hendersonville, TN), his granddaughter Danielle Gross and husband Landon (Portland, TN).  He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Ida Boucher (Paul), Victor Roy (Diane), Florence Henrie (Ernest), Denise Roy (Bernie), Ronnie Roy (Denise) and sister-in-law Doris Roy and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Alyre and Marie Roy and his brothers, Roger Roy and Paul Roy. Leo's legacy of love, faith, and generosity will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his loved ones.

Leo's life was a testament to the power of love and the beauty of service. As we mourn his loss, let us celebrate his life and remember his unwavering commitment to his faith, family, and community. Please share your cherished memories and photographs of Leo on his memorial page. Your tributes will serve as a reminder of the profound impact he had on our lives.
