The funeral Mass will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg with a Mass in Saint Leo’s Church, 108 Main St., Leominster at 10am on Tuesday, April 18. Burial will follow in Saint Bernard’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 4-8pm on Monday, April 17 in the funeral home. Leominster – Lena (Costa) Petitto, 91, of Leominster, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2017 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home with her loving family by her side.
Lena was born in Fitchburg on March 13, 1926, a daughter of the late Charles and Lucia (D’Angelo) Costa. Lena worked for the Independent Lock Co., as well as Bay State Plastic for many years until her retirement in 1985.
She was a loving and proud wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family was everything to her and she enjoyed nothing more than hosting Sunday dinners and family gatherings. Lena was a skilled cook and loved to play cards with her friends.
Lena leaves her children, Rocco C. Petitto, III and wife Susan of Monument, CO, Wayne Petitto and wife Eileen of Leominster, Lisa (Petitto) McNally and husband Brian of Leominster. She was a loving Nonnie to her grandchildren, Adam McNally, Rocco A. Petitto and wife Amber, Emily (Petitto) Winters and husband Christopher, Christopher Petitto and wife Kristin, Patrick Petitto and Michael Petitto; four great grandchildren, Gabriella, Marissa, Rocco, and Sydney; a sister, Mary Bourgault of Fitchburg.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Rocco C. Petitto, Jr., her granddaughter, Hannah Rose McNally; brothers, Phillip and James Costa; and her sisters Jennie Brassard and Vincenza Costa.
