Lena Johnson Scibarrasi

November 2, 1929 — January 10, 2018

The funeral will be held Tuesday, January 16, from Brandon Funeral Home, Fitchburg with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony di Padua Church, 84 Salem St., Fitchburg. Burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, January 15 from 4-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.



BELOVED MOTHER AND GRANDMOTHER

FITCHBURG – Lena (Sciabarrasi) Johnson, 88, passed away on January 10, 2018 in Leominster Hospital with her family by her side.

She was born on November 2, 1929 in New York City, a daughter of the late Domenic and Mary Sciabarrasi.

Lena worked at Foster Grant where she met her husband Charles, and later retired from E.B. Kingman in Leominster in 1992

She was a very involved and faithful parishioner of St. Anthony di Padua Church in Fitchburg. She was also a member of the Leominster Senior Center, the Italian American Club and the Golden Ages. She volunteered at the Fitchburg Green, working in the kitchen and delivering meals to fellow residents. She enjoyed cooking, bingo, playing cards and had many friends. She was a loving wife, mother, and “Meme” to her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family was most important to Lena, and the memories of family vacations together will be cherished forever.

She leaves two children, Steven Johnson of Port Charlotte, FL and Deborah Shakarian and her husband Michael of Sterling; a sister, Frances Petrucci of Fitchburg; grandchildren, Michael Gaudet and wife Alexandra, Sherilyn Palmer and husband Matthew, Christopher LaGasse and wife Beth, and Kelly Davis and husband Gene; great grandchildren, Julianna and Francesca Gaudet and Christopher Palmer; many nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Charles Johnson, died in 2000. She was predeceased by her brothers, Salvatore, Santo, Anthony and Frank Sciabarrasi, as well as her sister, Connie Lupo.
