Kim Marie (Swan) Alia 65 of Leominster died unexpectedly in her home Friday June 24.
Kim was born October 21, 1956 in Ticonderoga NY daughter of the late Howard A. Swan Sr. and the late Claudia N. (Neggia) Swan.
Kim attended Moriah Central School up until her senior year and graduated from Lakeland High School in Florida.
She was an artist who was very crafty, had an eye for design, and had a love for vintage clothing and antiques.
She cared for her beloved horse Thunder growing up and remained a focal point for many of her stories told to her grandchildren.
Kim sold cars at Robert’s Chrysler Plymouth in Fitchburg throughout the ’80s and ’90s. She endured a vast knowledge of cars and continued to sell cars at various dealerships throughout her career.
She met her soulmate, Gary Alia, at the Foxfire Club in Florida while he was on tour with his band and where she worked as a waitress.
They married in Moriah NY at the local church and moved to Leominster where they remained eternal souls for 43 years.
Kim was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed the company of family friends.
She never hesitated to cook a full meal on the spot regardless of how many people came in.
She always had enough food. She was the oldest of 6 and was the matriarch of the family. Her home was the central point for gatherings for many years.
Kim is predeceased by her husband, Gary Alia who passed in 2021.
She is survived by her son, Vincent Alia of Westminster, daughter, Ashley Wing and her husband, Michael of Lancaster, granddaughters, Madison Alia and Sophia and Ella Wing, siblings, Lynn Maye of Leominster, Howard Swan Jr. and Lori Swan Moriah of NY, Steven Swan Moriah of NY, Lisa Swan Olcott Moriah of NY, Barton Swan Moriah of NY, sisters in law and brothers in law, Kathleen (Alia) and Timothy Kurtz of Penneville, NY, Maria (Alia) and Stephen Kelsey of Cat Spring, TX and several nieces and nephews.
