Katherine Michaels

Katherine Michaels, age 93, resident of Leominster, MA, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024.

Katherine is the daughter of the late Aristotle and Constandina Spylios, born in Fitchburg, MA on May 13, 1930. She was employed at R.H. Whites and Bradlees for several years.

She was a fantastic cook who enjoyed entertaining family and friends at her home. She enjoyed summer vacations on Cape Cod and was always in attendance at Greek Festivals in the Boston area. Katherine was the founding member of what our neighbor coined “Girls in the Hood.” A monthly gathering of neighbors who attended various restaurants. One niece recently described her as sweet, kind, and gentle. She was a beautiful mother, inside and out. Katherine said she had a long life and a good life, for which we are grateful for.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Katherine for a period of visitation on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd. Fitchburg, MA from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.  Her funeral will be celebrated on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1319 Main St, Fitchburg, MA, at 10:00 am, with burial to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, 115 Mt. Elam Rd. Fitchburg, MA.

Katherine is predeceased by her husband William Michaels of almost 60 years, and brothers Michael and Peter Spylios. She leaves her son Stephen Michaels and daughter Denise Lamkin, along with several nieces and nephews.
