Fitchburg – Elaine Celona, of Fitchburg died Monday, May 25, at home in the company of her loving family and friends.
Elaine was born on February 5, 1939, in Lynn, MA, daughter of the late Hugh D. and Katherine M. (McDermott) Lewis. She graduated from Fitchburg High School class of 1958. She enjoyed cooking and celebrating the holidays, and traveling throughout the USA and Europe. She loved animals, particularly her Great Danes. Her greatest love however, was her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Frank V. Celona of Fitchburg; her children; daughter, Katherine Ann Celona and her partner Barbara Donlon of Virginia, and son, Frank D. Celona and his wife June of Fitchburg; her three grandchildren, her pride and joy, Megan Celona, Nicholas Celona, and Emily Celona; her sister, Helen Rose DiSanto of Narragansett, RI, and many nieces and nephews.
Elaine was predeceased by her sister Sarah Ann Lewis of Peabody, MA. Elaine will be missed by all who knew her.
CELONA – The funeral will be held from the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on with a Mass in Saint Anthony di Padua Church at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Saint Bernard’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 28, from 4:00-8:00pm in the funeral home.
