OBITUARY Fitchburg – Karen M. (Grier) Powers, 67, a lifelong resident of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully on December 22, in her home. Karen was born in Fitchburg on July 9, 1949, a daughter of the late Donald and Catherine (Craigen) Grier. She was a graduate of Saint Bernard’s Central Catholic High School. For many years she worked as a customer service representative for a commercial insurance company, until her retirement. She leaves her husband of 47 years, Roy R. Powers of Fitchburg; sons, Jeremy Powers and wife Melissa of Athol and Ryan Powers of Fitchburg; grandchildren., MacKenzie Powers, Daniel Powers, and Jace Powers; siblings, Kevin Grier and wife Paula and Maureen McSheehy and husband William. Karen was predeceased by her grandson Justin Powers and her brother Thomas Grier.
