Calling hours will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Thursday, March 31, from 4-7pm. It was Justin’s wish to participate in the Anatomical Gift Program through UMass Medical Center in Worcester.

OBITUARY
Fitchburg – Justin David McGuirk, 78, of Fitchburg, died Sunday, March 27, in his home surrounded by family.
He was born in Athol on February 5, 1938 a son of the late Patrick and Mary (McAdam) McGuirk. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, where he was a firefighter. For many years, Justin worked for the Athol Police Department and as the Chief of Police for Fitchburg State University. He also worked for Burbank Hospital as the head of security.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, Grace (Lambert) McGuirk of Fitchburg; children, Patrick McGuirk and wife Paula of Westminster, Sean McGuirk and wife Heather of Groton, Kelly Laffita and husband Robert of Athol, and Mary Merkel and husband Peter of Lunenburg; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Justin was predeceased by six brothers.
The family would like to thank the visiting nurses of GVNA Hospice and Bridge Program.
