The funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Friday, October 23, with a Mass in Saint Joseph Church, Fitchburg at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Saint Bernard’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 22, from 4-7pm.



OBITUARY Fitchburg – Joyce E. Marabello, 76, of Fitchburg, passed away on Saturday, October 17, in the LaChance Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Joyce was born in Athol on December 1, 1938, a daughter of the late John E. and Mae (Thomasian) Koski. She was a 1956 graduate of Fitchburg High School. For many years Joyce worked as a secretary for General Electric in Fitchburg.

She was a devout Catholic and was a very active parishioner of Madonna of the Holy Rosary Church in Fitchburg. Joyce sang in the choir, served in the Patrini, and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was very involved in many activities within the church including the Fish Fry and Garlic Festival. Joyce loved flowers and tending her garden. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, making chocolates, and recently, making beaded bracelets. Joyce also enjoyed her PBS shows, classical music, culture, and traveling.

She was a loving grandmother, and attended her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Joyce leaves her son, James Marabello and wife Bonnie, and her daughter Susan McBride; grandchildren, Jack and Patricia Marabello, and Connor and Laura McBride; many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Marabello, her sister Deanne Poirier; sisters-in-law Agatha Wagg and Antonet ‘Nenay’ Schultz; cousin Jean Otis, and her companion David Larkin.
