The funeral will be held Monday, December 19, 2016 from Callahan, Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church, 929 Main St., Worcester. Calling hours are Sunday from 4-7 p.m. Burial is private.
WORCESTER – On December 14th, our world became a little smaller. Joseph R. Smalley, Jr. passed away after a hardfought personal struggle.
Joe was born on April 9, 1979 in Worcester. He is survived by his beautiful daughter and true angel, Taylor-Lynn Smalley of Worcester, his loving parents, Joseph R. Smalley, Sr. and Iona R. Sage, his wife, Michelle (Farrell) Smalley, his brother, Matthew Smalley, his incredible stepmother, Sue Harding, his stepfather, Peter T. Sage, Sr., his grandparents, Iona and Arthur Premo, his grandmother, Catherine E. Smalley, brothers, Aaron Dahrooge and Peter T. Sage, Jr, sisters, Krystle and Andrea and many aunts and uncles. Last, but not least, he is survived by the greatest group of friends you could have, Jason “Jay” Watson, Chris “Merc” Mercier, Matthew Paharik, Brandon Blanchard and of course, Dana “Daner” Hendrickson.
Joe attended Wachusett Regional High School, where he blossomed into a truly talented and tremendous football player. He was awarded a scholarship to play for University of Michigan and received many accolades for his football talent.
