Calling hours will be held on Friday May 4 in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg from 10:30am-12:30pm. A service will be held at 12:30pm. Burial will be held privately.

Fitchburg – Joseph J. Spagnuola, Jr. 73, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Leominster Hospital.
Joe (“Joey, Spags”) was born in Fitchburg on July 30, 1944, son of the late Joseph (“Bing”) and Eleanor (Iannitelli) Spagnuola.
Joe grew up on Hale St. in the “Patch” in Fitchburg and was a 1964 graduate of Fitchburg High School where he starred on the basketball team. He had a passion for all sports and attended Brewster Academy and St. Anselm’s College.
In 2005 he was inducted into The Fitchburg High School Athletic Hall of Fame for his basketball accomplishments.
Joe began his career at the Digital Corporation where he spent many years. Upon retiring, he moved to Key West, Florida for a time, where he enjoyed playing golf and spending time with lifelong friend Mike Marrone. He had many longtime friends from grammar school, including Bobby Membrino.
Joe is survived by his three daughters, Lisa Nash & Steve Anderson of Lunenburg, Lynn Powell and Jeff of Lunenburg, Lori Keohan and Dan of Lunenburg; grandchildren Jessica Nash, Craig and Cailey Powell, Hannah, Matthew and Sean Keohan.
