José Orlando Gómez, conocido cariñosamente como Rollo por sus amigos y familiares, falleció el 3 de enero de 2024. Nacido el 22 de abril de 1958 en Juncos, Puerto Rico, la vida de José fue un testimonio de resiliencia, humor, confiabilidad y generosidad. cualidades que estaban entretejidas en el tejido mismo de su personalidad.
José era un hombre de muchos talentos. Trabajó en Wachusett Potato Chip Factory durante muchos años, donde sus colegas lo conocían como una persona confiable y trabajadora. La dedicación de José a su trabajo fue incomparable y era una de las cosas que más le importaban. Incluso después de su jubilación, José se mantuvo ocupado entregándose a sus pasatiempos: el detalle de automóviles y la música. Su pasión por estos pasatiempos era contagiosa y siempre estaba dispuesto a compartir una risa o una melodía. Como cristiano, se mantuvo firme en el versículo de Colosenses 3:23: "Hagas lo que hagas, trabaja en ello con todo tu corazón, como trabajando para el Señor, no para los amos humanos", que resume perfectamente su enfoque de la vida.
El espíritu generoso de José se extendió más allá de su círculo inmediato. Siempre estuvo dispuesto a echar una mano u ofrecer apoyo a quien lo necesitara. Su resiliencia y humor trajeron luz y alegría a quienes lo rodeaban, convirtiéndolo en un faro de positividad y fortaleza. Todos los que lo conocieron extrañará profundamente sus risas y sus historias.
A José le sobreviven su medio hermano Efraín Agosto Sr., sus hermanos Natividad Márquez y Edwardo Márquez, su hermana María Márquez y su media hermana Ana Álvarez. Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Silvano Márquez, Pablo Agosto y Felicita Gómez, así como sus hermanos Jesús Márquez y José Márquez.

Jose Orlando Gomez, affectionately known as Rollo to his friends and family, passed away on January 3, 2024. Born on April 22, 1958, in Juncos, Puerto Rico, Jose's life was a testament to resilience, humor, reliability, and generosity, qualities that were woven into the very fabric of his personality.
Jose was a man of many talents. He worked at the Wachusett Potato Chip Factory for many years, where his colleagues knew him as a reliable and hardworking individual. Jose's dedication to his work was unmatched, and it was one of the things that mattered most to him. Even after his retirement, Jose kept himself busy by indulging in his hobbies of car detailing and music. His passion for these hobbies was infectious, and he was always ready to share a laugh or a tune. As a Christian, he held steadfast to the verse from Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters," which perfectly encapsulated his approach to life.
Jose's generous spirit extended beyond his immediate circle. He was always willing to lend a hand or offer support to those who needed it. His resilience and humor brought light and joy to those around him, making him a beacon of positivity and strength. His laughter and stories will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Jose is survived by his half-brother Efrain Agosto Sr., brothers Natividad Marquez and Edwardo Marquez, sister Maria Marquez, and half-sister Ana Alvarez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Silvano Marquez, Pablo Agosto, and Felicita Gomez, as well as his brothers Jesus Marquez and Jose Marquez.

Jose's family will hold calling hours from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd. Fitchburg, MA. There will also be calling hours the next day, Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 9:00 am to11:00 am with a funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will take place following calling hours at Forest Hill Cemetery, 115 Mt. Elam Rd. Fitchburg, MA.
