Jonathan E. Vergne

Jonathan E. Vergne Santiago, known to all as Jon Vergne, was a pillar of life's joy and love, born on September 30, 1992, in Ponce, Puerto Rico. His charismatic spirit and infectious laughter lit up any room he entered. His love for life was reflected in his adventurous nature as he traveled and lived in various places like Mississippi, Alabama, and Texas. Jon's sense of humor and love for entertaining never ceased to bring a smile to everyone's faces. His funny jokes, joyful singing, and dancing were the heart of every gathering.

Jon was a man of many talents and achievements. He served honorably as a Marine and later continued his service to the community as a Police Officer in Mississippi and Alabama. In his professional life, he was a dedicated technician, bringing the same commitment and enthusiasm to his work as he did to every aspect of his life. Yet, what truly defined Jonathan was not his accomplishments but his loving heart. His love for his family knew no bounds. His kids, his mom and his dad, were his world, and he was theirs. His passions included playing pool, visiting the shooting range, and playing board games with his family. These simple moments brought him immense joy and created memories that his loved ones will treasure forever.

Jonathan is survived by his loving mother, Leslie Santiago; his father, Marco Santiago; his wife, Jessica Vergne; his cherished children, Jonathan Junior, Julianna, and Jiavanna, Marleigh and Maverick; his supportive sisters and brother, Shaquiria and Josefyne Santiago, and Emil Vergne. He now joins his father, Emilio Vergne Garcia; his great grandmother, Tomasita Rentas Montes; and his great grandfather, Juan Torres Colon, in eternal rest.

As we remember Jonathan, let us hold close to the words of Isaiah 41:10, "So do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be dismayed, for I am your God.,” declares the LORD, “I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand."

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Jon for a period of visitation on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd. Fitchburg, MA 01420 from 2:00pm until 5:00pm. Jon's burial will take place Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 10:00am at Forest Hill Cemetery, 115 Mt Elam Rd, Fitchburg, MA 01420.
