John Roy Wyman of Gardner MA, born on September 2nd, 1927 in Leominster, MA was called home on March 19, 2024 to be reunited with his loving wife Edye Wyman.
John was a charismatic and compassionate soul whose laughter and love for life touched everyone he knew. He lived a vibrant life filled with adventure, laughter, and had an enduring love for his family and friends. He is leaving behind a legacy of humor, loving kindness, and an unwavering spirit of resilience and love. His compassion was boundless, his love was unconditional and his wisdom was profound.
After serving with honor in the Navy during WWII, he became a Millwright, a skilled mechanic who found joy in creating and fixing things. His career at the paper company was fulfilling, but his true passion shone through in his hobbies. John was a skilled woodworker, crafting pieces as unique and beautiful as the man himself. He was an avid fisherman, finding peace and tranquility in the gently lapping of the water against the hull of his boat. His easy-going spirit and wonderful humor were the glue that held together his circle of family and friends. He had a knack for storytelling that could turn even the most mundane incident into an engaging tale. He also loved travelling, going cross country with his beloved wife in their camper and spending winters in sunny Florida.
John is survived by his 4 daughters, Joanne Leblanc and her husband Gene of Fitchburg, Donna Wyman-Boivin and her husband Michael of Fitchburg, Shelley Wyman of Gardner, Jackie Walsh and her husband Stephen of Portland ME, as well as 18 beloved grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, all of which he had an individual special bond. Their shared memories of John's loving presence will continue to inspire and comfort them in the years to come. He was preceded in death by his father Donald Wyman, mother Margaret Wyman (Miller), wife Edith Wyman (Bowen), sister Mary McDonough, brother Norman Wyman, and grandson Ryan Leahy.
John's legacy is not merely a collection of his accomplishments, but the enduring impact of his love, kindness, and wisdom. His memory will continue to inspire and uplift us, and his laughter will echo in our hearts forever.
