Lunenburg – John “Reed” Nash, 58, of Lunenburg, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2015 in his home with his loving wife Kitty by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Reed was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on May 10, 1956. He was the son of John P. and Beverley Jean (Reed) Nash. He was a proud member of the Canadian Governor General’s Foot Guard. Reed graduated from Bell High School and later from Algonquin College, both in Ottawa, Canada. He worked many years for Digital Equipment Corp in both Canada and in the U.S.; Compaq Computer Company in Canada; and J.D. Edwards in the U.S., which is now known as Oracle.
He loved riding his lawn tractor around his yard; doing wood working; building miniature models; listening to country music; and was an avid Nascar fan.
Reed leaves behind his loving wife Katherine “Kitty” Travers of Lunenburg, MA; his father John P. Nash and his companion Eleanor Gleeson of Ottawa; daughter, Leigh S. Nash and her husband Andrew Faulkner of Marmora, Ontario; his sister, Nikki Nash and her husband James T. Brown of Toronto; many extended family members and close friends. Reed also leaves behind his beloved family dog, Brutus Maximus.
He was predeceased by his mother Beverley Jean (Reed) Nash and his brother James “Brock” Nash.
