John E. Ferguson, Sr.

Private John Edward Ferguson Sr., age 95, peacefully passed in his Lunenburg, MA home on December 8, 2018, surrounded by family and loved ones. John was born in Blairsville, PA April 14, 1923 to Mary and Harry Ferguson.  A veteran of World War II, Private John Ferguson was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal among others, and was Honorably discharged from service in January 1946. John is preceded in death by his wife, Elvie, and his son, Bill. John is survived by his children, Judy, Jack, Linda, Ken, Sandy, Janice, Mark, and Nancy; his two great-nieces; his nine grandchildren; and his 14 great-grandchildren. John was known to all as a brave, loyal soldier and dedicated family man. John was a wonderful, loving father and grandfather, as well as a great friend to all. Those who knew John knew they could rely on him to have a smile on his face, no matter the circumstance. A natural athlete, John found himself coaching many baseball and little league teams throughout the years, as well as being an all-around handyman.
