Joan A. Richard

We gather to celebrate the life of an incredible woman, Joan Richard, born on July 19th, 1944 in Fitchburg, MA. Joan was a source of light, a pillar of strength, and a beacon of unwavering love and kindness. Her spirit, her passion, and her zest for life will remain an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Joan's journey was a remarkable tapestry of love, resilience, and accomplishment. She was a devoted sales representative at Simonds Cutting Tools, where she retired after many years of dedicated service. Joan's work ethic was inspiring, and her ability to connect with people was extraordinary. She had a gift for making people feel seen and valued, turning customers into friends. After her retirement, Joan continued to touch lives, embodying the quote, "The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away."

Joan was widowed, having loved and been loved by her late husband, Gerald Richard. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vital and Marie LeBlanc, and a brother Kevin LeBlanc. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her son, Todd Michaud and his wife Donna of Fitzwilliam, NH, and three step-children Steven Richard of Ashburnham, MA, Sharon Livingstone and spouse Joseph of Clermont, FL, and Lynda Koskinen and spouse Steven of Hope, ME. She also leaves her siblings, Joseph LeBlanc and spouse Dorothy of Leominster, MA, Nancy Koskinen of Lunenburg, MA, Janet Berestecky and spouse Paul of Louisville, KY, Gary LeBlanc and spouse of Barbara of Ludlow, MA, and Cindy Ann Foster of Fitchburg, MA. In their hearts and memories, Joan's spirit shines brightly, a testament to a life beautifully lived and a woman deeply loved.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Joan for a period of visitation on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 10:00AM to 12:00PM, with an in-house funeral service to take place promptly at 12:00PM. A committal service will take place following the funeral, at the Pieta located at St. Joseph Cemetery, 487 Clarendon St, Fitchburg, MA 01420
