Joan Carlson Gallagher

The funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Wednesday, July 27, with a Mass in St. Joseph Church in Fitchburg at 10am. Burial will follow in Saint Cecilia’s Cemetery in Leominster. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 26, from 4-7pm in the funeral home.
OBITUARY
Fitchburg – Joan E. (Gallagher) Carlson, 69, of Fitchburg passed away Friday, July 22, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Joan was born in Leominster on June 14, 1947, a daughter of the late Leon and Elizabeth (Soucy) Gallagher. She graduated from Saint Bernard’s High School in 1965 and later from Fitchburg State College, where she earned her Master’s Degree in Education.
Joan loved to travel, especially to the Caribbean. She also loved going to her home in Florida. She adored playing with her grandchildren and enjoyed every moment spent with family.
She leaves her husband of 47 years, Daniel Carlson of Fitchburg; children, John Carlson of Fitchburg and Theresa Carlson Martinez and her husband Miguel “Tippy” of Fitchburg; grandchildren, Karrysa Carlson, Leanne (Winter) Dos Santos and husband Mathias, Jackie Niles, Joslyn Winter, Madolyn Carlson, Michael Martinez, and Joseph Martinez; sister, Rita Brodeur.
Joan was predeceased by her brother Leon Gallagher, Jr.
