The Funeral Mass is schedule for 11:00 AM on Friday June 24th, 2022 in St. Anthony’s Church in Fitchburg, MA. A visitation will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 AM. Burial will follow the Funeral Mass and will take place at St. Bernards Cemetery, Fitchburg
Joan A. Cali Sasseville passed away on Saturday June 18th, 2022 at the age of 89.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Marilou Ingemie and her sons Richard Sasseville and his wife Anne Marie, and Vito Gregory Sasseville and his wife Tracy; grandchildren Sarah Ingemie Collins and her husband Jason Collins and Samuel Ingemie; great-grandchildren Cantrelle, Isla, and Roni Ingemie Collins. Joan was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Robert (Bob) Sasseville and her son-in-law Ronald B. Ingemie.
Joan was born in Fitchburg, MA on June 2, 1933, the middle daughter of Vito and Mary (Spano) Cali. Joan grew up with her two sisters Virginia (Ginny) Blanchflower and Carol Kearns and her Aunt Nina Spano DiNatale, and Joe and Benny Spano. Joan graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1950 and married Bob in 1952 and after their first few years of marriage living in Texas and New Jersey, Joan and Bob settled in Fitchburg, MA. Joan was a secretary at Simmonds Saw and Steel, Foster Grant, IBM, and LaPalme Engravers. Joan and Bob were able to celebrate their 50 wedding anniversary together and spent many enjoyable summers at North Hampton, NH, winters in Florida, and many memorable vacations throughout the country including a trip to Italy. Similar to her mother and sisters, Joan was a talented cook and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. In addition, she was an accomplished knitter known for making many fine Fisherman Knit sweaters; a collector of Byers Choice figures, and in her later years she enjoyed playing cards with her dear friends at Liberty Place. Joan was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother spending many happy times with her family.
