Winchendon- James A. Halloran, Jr., 83, died January 6, 2018 in Baldwinville Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center.
He was born on March 2, 1934, in Cumberland, MD, the son of James A., Sr. and Mary (Hood) Halloran. He graduated from LaSalle High School in Cumberland and earned his degree in Chemical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
James had a varied and extensive work life, starting as an Industrial Sales Engineer at ESSO, and serving as a project manager at various companies including Linde, Firewell, Norelco, Gas Inc., Riley Stoker, Polysar, retiring as a consultant for Nova.
His hobbies included building and flying RC airplanes, skiing, and woodworking, making toys, intricate animals, and furniture. A resident of Lunenburg for 30 years, he served on the town Planning Board for a decade. Possessing a large collection of tools, he could be counted on to help with any sort of home improvement project, and his excellent cooking skills were well appreciated.
He leaves his wife, Lee (Thatcher) Halloran; three sons, James A. Halloran, III, of Ayer, Michael E. Halloran of Southport, NC, and George A. Sango of Clinton; four daughters, Maryanne Sango Shanley of Hollis, NH, Katie Sango-Jackson of Natick, Wendy L. Halloran of Wethersfield, CT, and Elizabeth Sango Black of Mendon; sixteen grandchildren, two great-granddaughters and Four nieces, and one nephew. He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Wilson in 2015.
