Jackie Royal

Jackie "Sam" Royal, age 69, was born on January 27, 1955, in Gary Indiana. He was the son of Charlie and Frances (Poole) Royal.

He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Gary, Indiana. He is survived by his wife Phoebie (Menton) Royal of 32 years. His children; Jacqueline Scott of Ohio, David Youman of Fitchburg, Rosita (William) Earley of Fitchburg, Linda (Mark) Ingalls of New York, Jessica Youman of Lowell, and William Linde of Fitchburg. Two sisters; Charlesetta Royal and Betty Jo Mapps , both of Gary, Indiana. He is predeceased in death by his parents and daughter, Yvonne Diane Youman.

Jackie worked at Alpha Gary Chemical company for over 25 years as a chemical engineer. He was a passionate coach of Pop Warner Football in Fitchburg for 8 years and loved by everyone he encountered. Jackie was an avid reader, he enjoyed playing cards with his friends, board games, going fishing, and going on day trips with Maxine and Barry Cullerton.

He was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Jackie for a period of visiation on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 10:00 am until 11:00am at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd. Fitchburg, MA. An in-house funeral service will take place promptly at 11:00am, following visitation. Burial will take place at a later date.
