The funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Monday, January 12, with a Mass in Saint Anna’s Church, 194 Lancaster St. at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Saint Leo’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 11, from 3-7 P.M. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Isabel A. (DiNatale) Di Russo, 99, of Leominster, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, January 8, 2015.
Isabel was born in Fitchburg on July 4, 1915, the daughter of Filippo and Concetta DiNatale. Isabel was a very involved owner and operator of Sportsmen’s Plastics, Inc. along with her late husband, Amedeo, and her brother-in-law, Domenic and his wife, Mary (Ciufetti) Di Russo.
She was a member of the Saint Anna Society at Saint Anna’s Parish in Leominster, and also a member of the Madonna Della Cava Society at Saint Anthony’s Parish in Fitchburg. Isabel was the true matriarch of her family. She found great joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She leaves her four sons, Father Anthony P. Di Russo of Lunenburg, John V. Di Russo of Leominster, Steven W. Di Russo and wife, Kathleen (Marrone) of Oklahoma, and Thomas J. DiRusso and wife, Susan (Haaker) of Leominster, also her three daughters, Barbara A. Di Russo of Leominster, Loretta E. Lisciotti and husband, Hank of Leominster, and Dr. Concetta C. Di Russo and husband, Dr. Paul N. Black of Lincoln, Nebraska; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Amedeo A. Di Russo in 2003. Isabel was also predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.
