Irodell M Johnson peacefully left this world on December 10th 2022.
She was born in Ashburnham Ma on November 23, 1932 and was a long-time resident of Fitchburg.
She outlived her beloved husband, John Johnson and many of her siblings. She is survived by her 2 sons John (Jay) Johnson and Frank Johnson, her 6 grandchildren, Brandon Johnson, Kelly Johnson, Crystal Cepeda, Nick Johnson, Violet (Bee) Johnson, and Jack Johnson, and her three great grandchildren, Seamus Johnson, Oshen Johnson, and Zachary Johnson, as well as many other family and spouses.
Irodell met and married the love of her life on July 23,1958 in Mississippi. She traveled with John to his duty stations through the Air Force. They started their family by welcomed their first son in California and their second child in Michigan. They moved back to Fitchburg and bought the house they lived in together for over 40 years in December of 1964. When John retired, they did community service together and spent a lot of time at the Fitchburg Senior Center. Always ready for a game of Bingo. They spent a great deal of time with all of their grandchildren, particularly after John’s retirement with the 4 youngest. They spent as much time as they could with family and helping their family whenever and however, they could.
Tragically, John left Irodell in November of 2013. She stayed in the house they shared with all of her memories for as long as she could. Due to her declining health she had to leave the house she loved behind and move into a Nursing Home in 2019. Being away from her home caused Irodell’s mental health to decline rapidly and Dementia took her long before she left.
