Iris Dejesus Castro

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 on Saturday, November 10 in the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are from 6-8 Friday, November 9 in the funeral home.



Fitchburg- Iris M. (Castro) DeJesus, 66 passed away on Thursday, November 1st at HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital. She was born on August 12, 1952 in Lares, Puerto Rico a daughter of Antonio and Marilinda (Quiles) Castro. Mrs. DeJesus is survived by her husband of fifty three years, Antonio DeJesus, two sons, Jose DeJesus of Fitchburg, Antonio DeJesus of Paterson, N.J., one daughter, Ernesta DeJesus of Fitchburg, three brothers, Nelson Castro of Florida, Tony Castro of Puerto Rico, Jose Quiles of New Jersey, one sister, Maira Quiles of New Jersey, seventeen grandchildren and two great granddaughters. Mrs. DeJesus is predeceased by her son, Sebastian DeJesus (Danny), who passed away in 2014 and her sister, Amalia Loran. Iris was an active and dedicated member of the Habacuc 2:20 Igelsia Pentecostal Church in Fitchburg where she was in charge of the Help the People in Need Program. Mrs. DeJesus loved to cook and enjoyed making pasteles.
