Irene Theresa (Conlon) DiTommaso died at her home in Rindge, New Hampshire on December 18 – the way she lived – surrounded by faith and family.
Her parents, Sarah “Sadie” (Gillis) Conlon and John F. Conlon welcomed her to the world on April 19, 1930. She grew up in Fitchburg, Mass with her sisters, Ann Marie (Mimi) and Joan, and brothers, Jim, Jack and Edward.
Irene proudly played the flute and piccolo with the Fitchburg High School Marching Band and was swept off her feet one night while dancing with the love of her life, John DiTommaso.
Two years after graduating from FHS, Irene and John exchanged their vows at St. Bernard’s Church and went on to make a beautiful home on Pearl Street where they raised their three loving children.
Irene served as a dedicated Office Administrator for the VNA of Fitchburg for close to 20 years and seized every opportunity to express her gratitude to those who served.
She was also a lifelong parishioner of St. Camillus Church and longtime member of their altar guild.
She was known for showing her love through her expertly decorated cakes, finely knit blankets, sweaters, socks (and the likes) and beautiful paintings.
She is survived by her children and each of their spouses, Jane (DiTommaso) & Mike Cancellieri, John & Debra (Marcoux) DiTommaso, and Robert & Deborah (Lapointe) DiTommaso, nine grandchildren and each of their spouses, Amanda (Cancellieri) & Derek Manteuffel, Amanda (Veautour) & Kenneth Goodwin, Lindsey (Veautour) & Lukasz Jaroszewicz, Andrew & Jen (Quinlan) Cancellieri, Anthony & Elaine (Steeves) DiTommaso, Maria DiTommaso, Gina DiTommaso, Dominic DiTommaso and Teresa DiTommaso, eight great-grandchildren, Briggs Goodwin, Jillian DiTommaso, Roman Jaroszewicz, Colin Cancellieri, Olivia DiTommaso, Henryk Jaroszewicz, Nolan Cancellieri, and Clara Jane Manteuffel, her sister, Joan (Conlon) Kilday, brother, Jim Conlon, and sisters in-law Emily (Ward)Conlon, Lauretta (Daniels)Conlon and Kathleen (Courteau) Conlon, along with dozens of beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
She meets her dear husband, John, along with her parents, her sister, Mimi and her brothers, Jack and Ed in eternal rest.
