Irene Cormier, a dedicated woman of grace and creativity, born on November 4, 1924, in Leominster, MA, USA, recently passed away on March 4, 2024. She was raised on Water St, Leominster, where her love for creativity blossomed. After her family had grown, Irene and her husband Raymond traveled extensively in their RV and then spent ten years in Largo, Florida until returning back to their hometown of Leominster, MA.
Irene was a hardworking woman who worked many part time jobs to help support her family. She was known for her exquisite attention to detail, a testament to her creativity and dedication. Her love for creativity extended far beyond her work. She was an avid knitter and crocheter, her hands always busy creating something beautiful. She also had a remarkable talent for cake decorating, often transforming simple cakes into stunning works of art. Later in life, as her hands tired, she was always seen with a deck of cards.
Irene was a beloved mother to her son, Retired Leominster Fire Chief, Ronald Cormier and wife Susan of Rotunda West, FL, daughter Donna Kiuru and husband John of Lunenburg, MA, daughter Robin Martin and husband Michael of Leominster, MA. She was a loving grandmother to Jennifer Cormier and Christopher Cormier, Matthew Landry, Samantha (Martin) Hughes and Arielle (Martin) Breugger. She leaves 12 beloved great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Jackson and Lily Robin Cormier, Matteia, Beckett and Jagger Landry, Javon, Shanti and Daisha Hughes, Barrett and twins Carter & Crew Bruegger. Along with several nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Emanuel and Stella Lyonnais, her husband, Raymond Cormier, and her siblings, Roger, Robert, Charles, Evelyn, and Doris whom passed just 3 days before her sister Irene within the same nursing home where they resided together. Despite the loss, Irene's loving spirit continues to live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
Irene Cormier's interment will take place on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 10:00 am at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located at 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, Massachusetts, 01475.
