It is with both deep sadness and a heart full of loving memories that I, Millenia, share the passing of my beautiful mother, Hester M. Ledford, affectionately known as Tutti. She was born in Fitchburg, MA, on August 9, 1982, and spent her life filling every room she entered with laughter, compassion, and an empathetic spirit. Our beloved Hester was a beacon of love and joy, and she left an indelible mark on all those she met.
Hester was a homemaker by trade, but her real passion was her family and her home. She was the proud mother to five children and a doting grandmother to two grandchildren, positions she held as her greatest accomplishments. Her home in Worcester, Massachusetts, was a haven of love, filled with the scent of her cooking, the sound of her singing, the sight of her dancing, and the beauty of her beloved plants. As the American author, Maya Angelou once said, "The ache for home lives in all of us. The safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned." This was the atmosphere Hester created and maintained, a testament to her love and the essence of who she was.
Hester had a natural gift for gardening, a hobby she cherished and one that reflected her nurturing nature. She was also a fervent Stevie Nicks fan and would often sing along to her songs with a joyous spirit that was infectious. Hester was funny, loving, compassionate, and empathetic. She had a heart of gold and would give anyone the clothes off her back. She had a strong conviction in her beliefs, yet she accepted everyone for who they were and offered support in any way she could. She was a testament to the quote by Helen Keller that reads, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart."
Hester is survived by her children, Millenia Butler, Nevaeh Butler, Gabriella Perez-Ledford, Jacob Jr, and Wesley Simas, her grandchildren Aniyalise Mueses and Kingston Mueses, and her niece, Arilyn Soto-Sanchez, and her father Mark Ledford. She was preceded in death by her mother Pamela Perry, and long-term companion Gregory Butler.
We invite you to share your memories and upload photos of our beloved Hester to the memorial page, https://my.gather.app/remember/hester-ledford. Let us celebrate her life and the love she spread as we remember her laughter, her strength, and the joy she brought to each of us.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
