Fitchburg- Helen M. (O’Donnell) Cioffi, 93 passed away Saturday, February 24 in Health Alliance Leominster Hospital.
Mrs. Cioffi was born June 7, 1924 in Fitchburg, the daughter of John F. and Katherine A. (Gurry) O’ Donnell.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Frank M. Cioffi, of Fitchburg, one daughter, Kathleen Cioffi of Fitchburg, a son, Paul J. Cioffi and his wife, Cynthia, of Ashby, grandchildren, William, Michael and Timothy and a sister, Janet K. O’Donnell of Fitchburg.
Mrs. Cioffi is predeceased by her son, Steven M. Cioffi, who passed away in 2012, her brothers, John F. O’Donnell, James B. O’Donnell and her sister, Barbara A. Williams, Kathleen’s fiancé, Richard Hawkins.
Mrs. Cioffi was employed for 15 years as a secretary and registered receptionist at the Townsend, Dabney and Tipon Stock Brokerage Firm and was employed for 17 years at the Fitchburg School Department as a principle clerk at Fitchburg High School and Memorial Middle School retiring in 1987.
Helen graduated from St. Bernard’s High School with honors in 1941. She received an Associate’s Degree from the Katherine Gibbs School in Boston in 1943.
Mrs. Cioffi was an associate member of the USS Denver CL 57 which her husband Frank served on during WW II. She was a member of the VFW Aux. Post 6907 and the Fitchburg Retired Municipal Employee’s Association.
She enjoyed travelling and attending the USS Denver reunions.
