The funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Thursday, July 28, with a Mass in Saint Joseph Church, 49 Woodland St., at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Saint Bernard’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, July 27, in the funeral home.
OBITUARY
Fitchburg – Helen Loraine Arsenault Bastarache, 77, of Fitchburg, passed away Friday, July 22, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Helen was born in Moncton, New Brunswick on September 20, 1938, a daughter of the late Edward and Laura (Gallant) Arsenault. After graduating from high school, she worked in Civil Service for 5 years before moving to the United States. Helen then worked for Master Molders and the MT. Elam Nursing Home in Fitchburg until her retirement. She loved to play Bingo with her friends, visit flea markets, and go shopping. Helen enjoyed trips to Canada for vacations and visits with family. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren, whom she loved very much.
She leaves her son, Brian Bastarache and his wife Tracy of New Hampshire; grandchildren, Jack and Nicholas Bastarache; former husband and best friend Joseph Bastarache of Fitchburg; siblings, Leo Arsenault and wife Carmen of Canada, Yvon Arsenault and wife Joan of Canada, and Rita Girouard and husband Leo of Fitchburg; several nieces and nephews.
