Guy A. Gagnon a lifelong resident of Fitchburg, Mass. was surrounded by family when he passed
away on March 30, 2023, following a period of declining health. He was 84 years old.
Guy was the son of the late Arthur and Marie Gagnon (Caron). He was raised in Fitchburg but he
spent his summers In Falmouth, MA. There was no shortage of mischievous stories from his
boyhood during the time he spent in Falmouth with his extended family. He developed a great
love for Cape Cod and he dreamed of retiring on the beach in Falmouth. Guy graduated
from St. Bernard’s Central Catholic High School in 1957 where he met Norma Gagnon (Favini),
his loving wife of 58 years who preceded him in death. While raising a young family he attended
Clarke University and had a successful career at Foster Grant in Leominster, MA as Director of
Procurement, which was a great source of pride. Guy was an avid runner and could often be
seen running the streets of Fitchburg on his lunch break. He loved spending time at the beach
and riding the surf.
Guy was a devoted father to his four children and in his retirement, he especially enjoyed having
fun with his six grandchildren whom he could rile up like no other. Guy was tremendously
proud of the successes of his children and enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow into young
adults. Guy remarried in 2019 to Carol Gagnon (Casson). The Casson family welcomed Guy into
their family with open arms.
Guy is survived by his four children Pamela Gagnon of Fitchburg, MA, Thomas Gagnon and his
wife Erin of Palmetto, FL, Amy Sullivan and her husband Patrick of Charlestown, MA, and Steven
Gagnon and his wife Jennifer of Sterling, MA. He was a proud and loving Grampie
to Sydney, Hutch, Zackary, Michael, Lauren, and Patrick. He was also survived by his two sisters,
Christine Bellabarba and her husband Louie, and Michelle Peel and her wife Barbara
McLaughlin.
