The funeral will be held in New Life Church, 834 Main St. Leominster on Thursday, April 23 at 11:00am. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 22, from 5-7 pm in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Simonds Hurd Complimentary Care Center 275 Nichols Rd. Fitchburg, MA 01420.



OBITUARY Leominster – Gordon W. Lockhart, 64, of Leominster passed away on Friday, April 17, in Tufts Medical Center surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. Gordon was born in Fitchburg on September 11, 1950, a son of the late Morrell and Norma (Burnap) Lockhart. He graduated from Fitchburg High School and joined the U.S. Air Force, in which he proudly served his country. Later, Gordon earned his Associates Degree from Mount Wachusett Community College. He was a longtime employee of Digital Equipment Corp, and before his retirement, Gordon enjoyed driving for the First Student Bus Co. He was very active in sports, and for many years coached recreational league youth basketball. Gordon’s most treasured time was that spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved vacationing at York Beach in Maine with his wife Donna. Gordon loved the outdoors and tending to his abundant gardens. He leaves his wife of 44 years, Donna (Capone) Lockhart of Leominster; daughter Brenda Lockhart Young and her fiancé Jeff LeBlanc of Leominster; grandchildren, Rhiannon and Tegan Young and Caleb LeBlanc; siblings, Judy Walker of Woodbridge, VA, Wanda Mansfield and her husband Cary of Lunenburg, Linda LaFleur of Manchester, NH; brother in law, Walter Capone and his wife Charlotte of South Dennis; sister in law, Judy Capone of Leominster; many nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by his brother Lendell Lockhart.
