The funeral will be held Friday, January 13, 2023 from Brandon Funeral Home, Fitchburg with a Mass at 11 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Fitchburg. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-6pm. Burial is private.
Fitchburg – Gerald F. Beloin, 90, died suddenly on January 6, 2023.
He was born October 15, 1932 in Holyoke, the son of Francis and Dorilda (Lavallee). He was a 1951 graduate of St. Bernard’s High School, where he played basketball, and 1959 graduate of Fitchburg State College, and continued there to earn his Master’s Degree in Education in 1966. He also attended Worcester State College, Boston College and Northeastern.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the Irish American Association, British American Club, Fitchburg Rotary East, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post #10 and the Eastwood Club.
Gerald was a teacher for the Newton Public Schools for 28 years and also worked in sales for many years. Most recently, he drove for the Council on Aging in Lunenburg.
He leaves his wife, Barbara (Herrick), a daughter, Ellen L. Griffin and her husband, Robert, of Fitchburg, two sons, Gregory F. Beloin and his wife, Kehaulani, of Fitchburg and Matthew J. Beloin and his former wife, Lenore Auger, of Shrewsbury, 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
