June 9, 1934 — February 6, 2023

LUNENBURG – Francis (Frank) Leo Rousseau, (88) passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 6, 2023.

Frank and his wife Lorraine built a beautiful life together in Lunenburg, where they raised their four children. Frank was a man with many talents, interests and pursuits, all of which he purposefully attended to with passion. He attended Assumption College, as a scientist and chemist by profession, he broadened that knowledge into several branches. He had more than the average gardener’s talent. He planted and meticulously perfected his small apple orchard, which he invited family, friends, and neighbors to enjoy. As a gymnast and member of Turner Hall, he participated in a gymnastic exhibition at the New York World’s Fair in 1964. Frank was an avid boater and enjoyed many years with Lorraine at Quayside Yacht Club in Moultonboro, NH. Frank and Lorraine were lucky to have visited many parts of the world, including Europe, Australia, Alaska and Hawaii.

Frank is survived by his wife and best friend of 69 years, Lorraine T. (Basque) Rousseau, He also leaves behind his devoted and grateful children, his son David and his wife Gail of Fitchburg, his daughters Joyce (Rousseau) Fraine, Denis Fraine of Bellingham and Karen (Rousseau) Norton, her husband Jeff of Marshfield, and his sister Lorraine Legere of Leominster. Frank’s six grandchildren learned so much from him; Sarah and Andrew, Meagan and Mallory, and Laura and Olivia. He loved meeting each new great-grandchild as they arrived; Carter and Coletta, Cameron, Nathan and Landon, Elowyn and Summer, Leo, Margaux, and a little boy on the way. Frank is predeceased by his son Mark who passed in 1981, his parents Leo and Laura (Dumais) Rousseau, and his sisters Bernadette Mansour and Lucille Breault.
