Calling hours will be private. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 11th with a Mass in St. Bernard Parish at St. Camillus de Lellis Church, 333 Mechanic Street, Fitchburg. Fitchburg – Frances (Healey) Simoneau, 89, a longtime resident of Fitchburg, MA died Wednesday, October 5, 2016, surrounded by her family.
Daughter of Frank and Ruth Healey, she was born in Fitchburg and resided there all of her life. She graduated from St. Bernard’s High School and worked for several years at a bank in Fitchburg before she had eight children.
Frances was a devoted mother and grandmother, always eager to give beneficial advice. She loved spending time with her family, especially during summers on Cape Cod. She was a caring person, proud of her children, and made a lasting difference in the lives of her family and friends. She enjoyed old movies, reading, chatting with friends, and traveling.
She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Philip E. Simoneau, and her son, Daniel Simoneau. She is survived by her children Richard Simoneau of Wilton Manors, FL; Margaret Simoneau of Hollywood, FL; Stephen Simoneau and wife Elizabeth Simoneau of Worcester, MA; Martin Simoneau and wife Alice Carmichael-Simoneau of Lancaster, MA; Susan Tuttle and husband William Tuttle of Fitchburg, MA; Mary Simoneau of Fitchburg, MA; Ann Simoneau and husband Michael Valcourt of Brookeville, MD. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Ryan Tuttle, Julia Simoneau and Emily Simoneau.
